Frequently Asked Questions
How long can I expect my new roof to last?
Most roofs are designed to last about 20 years, but it depends on environmental hazards and wear-and-tear as well as the material of your roof. Certain materials such as slate, clay and metal can last longer than a traditional shingle roof. Learn more about our residential roofing services (click here).
Do I really need routine inspections? Can I inspect a roof on my own?
The general and recommended rule for a roof inspection is twice a year by a trained professional. As a core service, TurnKey Roofing has inspected hundreds of roofs throughout Florida. While the property owner can look at the roof on his/her own, it is not a recommended maintenance practice as damage can be overlooked or unnoticed from the ground-level or by the untrained eye. How do I determine if I need a new roof?
When it is time for roof replacement (typically around 15 to 20 years with your current roof), you will start to notice various warning signs. Besides age, warning signs include, curling shingles, loss of asphalt, water damage to ceilings or leaks, decaying shingles, missing shingles, visible cracks, wind damage or broken shingles.
If your roof is over 15 years old, we highly recommend a consultation for roof replacement as well as routine inspections. Learn more about our residential roofing services(click here).
How much will a new roof cost?
The cost of a new roof depends on several factors, including the quality and brand of your contractor’s roofing materials, the type of shingle or material you prefer, size of your roof and slope of your roofline.
Remember, the roof is the most important aspect of your home or structure. TurnKey Roofing does not recommend choosing a roofing contractor based on cost alone. While price is a factor, you should also consider the reputation of the roofing company, the materials they use and the workmanship of previous roofing projects. How long will it take to install a new roof?
We estimate around three or four days to completely install your new roof. However, this timeline is subject to change due to material inventory, weather or coordinating with the insurance company.
